News about this software release can be found under this address: http://www.mobotix.com/ * Updating the Camera Software 1. Download the file MX_system_8_0095.mpl to your computer. 2. Make sure that the file has been transferred completely. Please find the SHA256 checksums in the "Checksums_*.sha256" files. 3. Make sure that the camera fulfills the requirements listed above. Check the information under "Admin Menu > Hardware and Release Information" on the camera. 4. Make sure that you are connected directly to the camera, without any proxy server in-between. Disable any proxy servers. Microsoft Internet Explorer: "Tools > Internet Options > Connections (tab) > Settings (in LAN Settings) > Proxy Server". 5. Restart the camera. 6. Log onto the camera as administrator, open "Admin Menu > Upload system Software" and read the Important Notes. Select the file MX_system_8_0095.mpl and start the upload. CAUTION: - Never disrupt the procedure while the camera is uploading or rewriting its flash memory. If this has happened anyhow, the camera will automatically boot the backup system (the title bar in the browser interface is red). The backup system only allows updating the system software. - The upload procedure may take several minutes, depending on the quality of the internet connection. - The camera LEDs will show a specific pattern while uploading. Please read the manual for the meaning. - During the procedure, the browser windows may not be updated properly. 7. Upon completion of the upload, the camera will display a message. Read this message carefully. 8. If the upload has finished successfully, restart the camera. If the upload was not successful, do not reboot the camera. Restart the upload process and wait until the upload has finished successfully. If the camera detects a faulty operating system, it will boot its backup operating system (the title bar in the browser interface is red); in this case, you should update the system software again. 9. The settings of the camera will remain intact during and after the update. It is recommended, however, to reset certain parts of the configuration to the factory defaults, while keeping the other parts of the current configuration. If conflicts are detected while opening camera pages, warning messages will inform you about these conflicts. When resetting the configuration to factory defaults, the network, audio, and security settings should not be reset to factory defaults as this may render the camera unreachable.
