Exporting Hemispheric Images

When exporting hemispherical images to AVI (M-JPEG) and MP4 (H.264), you can now apply distortion correction as an export option in MxMC. In the Export Profile dialog, activate the additional Dewarp Enabled option to apply the currently selected display mode in Playback also for exporting the hemispheric full image.

Note: This release supports the “Panorama” and “Normal” display modes.

Reverse Playback of Recordings from MOBOTIX NAS Devices

This version supports playing back recordings of MOBOTIX MOVE and other ONVIF S-compatible cameras from MOBOTIX NAS devices with up to 8x speed. This requires updating the MOBOTIX NAS Recorder Software to release 1.2.3.1 on the MOBOTIX NAS device.

Directly Accessing MxFFS Media

You can now directly (i.e., without the camera) browse, play back, and export the recordings of MOBOTIX IoT cameras directly from MxFFS media (USB flash/hard drives, SSD drives). Select the new “MxFFS Medium” device type in the MxMC device tree to and an attached USB MxFFS storage device to MxMC. You can then activate the Playback view for accessing the recordings and for exporting.

Note: You have to launch MxMC with admin privileges on Windows and using “sudo” on macOS.

Support of Mx7 Models

Besides the established Mx4/5 Mx6 camera models, this release also supports the new M73 and the other Mx7 models that will follow. To support the new models, two new features have been added.

Wizard for Initializing MOBOTIX Door Stations

The Wizards & Tools view now contains the new Initialize Door Station feature. After selecting a door station (T25, S15, T26, S26, S16) in the device tree, you can start this wizard in order to set up MOBOTIX door stations and MxDisplay devices for the first time. Note, that the door stations must have been added to MxManagementCenter and the MxDisplay devices must be visible in the network. The wizard performs the first important configuration steps and provides additional information to the remaining configuration, i.e., to the configuration tasks you need to perform after finishing the wizard.

Note: To use this new feature on Mx6 door station, they need to run a software release 5.2.4.15 or higher, Mx4/5 door stations require a software release 4.7.2.34 or higher.

Improved Integration of MOBOTIX NAS Systems

Accessing the recordings of MOBOTX MOCE cameras on MOBOTX NAS systems has been greatly improved in several ways:

Note: To access the recordings of MOBOTIX MOVE cameras, this release of MxMC mandates that the minimum software release of the MOBOTIX NAS Recorder Software (QVRProServer) on the NAS device is 1.2.2.1 or higher.

Support of the PelcoD Protocol

This release allows using controlling MOBOTIX IoT cameras mounted to PelcoD PTZ heads. Once a camera has been attached to the PTZ head and properly configured, all commands sent using the mouse or a joystick will be sent as commands to the PTZ head. The camera will execute zoom actions as digital zoom actions like before. The following steps are required to use a PelcoD PTZ head:

Note: To use this new feature on Mx6 door station, they need to run a software release 5.2.4.15 or higher, Mx4/5 door stations require a software release 4.7.2.34 or higher.

Improved Integration of MxThinClient Devices

The Components view now has the additional ThinClients tab. This tabs allows searching all MxThinClient devices in the network, add them to MxMC and configure the access data and the most important settings.

Enhancements and Improvements

Note

For additional information about the new features described in the following, please see the application online help.

Licensing

Beginning in release 2.0, many features are being added, some of which require a license: Integration of ONVIF S cameras and H.264, Extended camera configuration, Advanced Service including Health Check. In addition, the licensing mechanism introduced in release 1.8 for POS has been extended by additional features. Different license packages are available that depend on the number of ONVIF S devices, the video codec used, the number of MxMC instances and the number of MOBOTIX devices. For more information on the available licenses and how to obtain them, please see the MOBOTIX website under Products > Software > MxManagementCenter.

Integration of MxMOVE and other ONVIF S-Based Cameras

You can now add MxMOVE cameras and other cameras that understand ONVIF S to MxMC. For these types of cameras, the Camera Configuration dialog contains the following new settings:

Currently, the following features are available for these cameras:

When using M-JPEG as video codec, you can use any number of MxMOVE cameras and up to eight other ONVIF S cameras in MxMC without having to buy a license. When using the H.264 codec for MxMOVE and other ONVIF S-based cameras or when integrating more than eight ONVIF S cameras in MxMC, the corresponding licenses are required (see Licensing section above).

Integration of MOBOTIX NAS Devices

The new MOBOTIX NAS devices allow storing the H.264 streams of MxMOVE cameras and other ONVIF S cameras. Using MxMC, you can browse these recordings and play back the video. For accessing the recorded video, the application uses the ONVIF Profile G interface. To set up the entire system consisting of MxMOVE cameras and other ONVIF S cameras, a MOBOTIX NAS and MxMC, the following steps are required:

The QVR Pro app is available on the MOBOTIX website under Support > Download Center > Software Downloads > MOBOTIX NAS for downloading. For a more detailed description of these steps, please see the MOBOTIX website and read the Quick Install document in the Support > Download Center > Manuals section.

To access the recordings of MxMOVE cameras and other ONVIF S cameras on a MOBOTIX NAS, MxMC provides the following functions:

Advanced Camera Configuration

Apart from the basic camera settings of release 1.8, release 2.0 now shows many additional tabs for configuring camera settings in the Configuration view (Network, Time, Hardware, Audio, Video, Events, Recording, etc.). These tabs allow accessing most of the parameters (currently about 75 %) that are only accessible using the browser interface otherwise. By using the configuration bar on the right-hand border of the MxMC window, you can apply the settings quite easily to many cameras at the same time. The configuration changes can be applied to the currently selected camera in the device tree and to all cameras of the superordinate group. Note that you can edit the configuration of up to 80 cameras at once. Using the advanced configuration requires a license (see Licensing section above).

Notes

Health Check

The Wizards & Tools view now contains the new Health Check feature. It allows testing all MOBOTIX IoT cameras of the Mx6 model range for problems regarding the system status. The test covers all cameras of the camera group currently selected in the device tree. The results are displayed with traffic light icons (Green – no problems, Yellow – at least one warning in the system, Red – at least one critical state of one camera). If warnings (Yellow) and errors (Red) have been detected, the system will propose solutions and recommendations to resolve the issues.

The Health Check feature is part of the Advanced Service License (see Licensing section above).

Online Help

In addition to the existing Quick Help, this release features an extensive online help with integrated search. To open the online help, click on Help in the menu or press Ctrl/Cmd+Alt+?.

Design of the User Interface

The user interface of the program shows numerous enhancements of buttons, graphics and icons.
