Using MxSoftPanel, you can easily set up a Windows or Mac OS X computer as an intercom for a MOBOTIX door station. To do so, the program basically provides the same functions as an MxDisplay+. This document contains notes for installing and operating the software as well as a description of its features.

Important Notes on Installing and Using the Software:

To download the latest software, please open the www.mobotix.com/other/Support/Software-Downloads/Cameras section on the MOBOTIX website.V1.0.0.1 is different from its predecessor release V1.0 only in the bugfixes listed below.MxSoftPanel is the new program provided free-of-charge by MOBOTIX, which brings the functionality and the user interface of the MxDisplay+ to the desktop of any Windows or Mac OS X computer, making it an additional intercom station. With its fixed size of 800x480 pixels, MxSoftPanel contains most of the features of an MxDisplay+ (except the features that are directly depending on the MxDisplay hardware or that are covered by the operating system, such as the floor call feature, training of RFID transponders, time adjustment, etc.). Using a computer with a large monitor further facilitates certain tasks that require more configuration steps (such as changing entry permissions or access times, or adding/removing PINs). When using remote connections to door stations in distant locations (e.g., in the vacation home), you can employ MxSoftPanel to create new PINs or remove existing ones from anywhere in the world. The user interface of the software presently supports English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

If you intend to install this version on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 systems, you need to make sure that the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 package has been installed properly.
Please observe the following hints:
The installation wizard (file MxSoftPanel_1-0-win32_Setup.exe) will automatically install this package in the last step of the setup process. If you cancel the wizard before completing this step, you will need to install the package manually. To do so, download the package from the Microsoft website (file vc_redist.x86.exe) and install it. You may have to remove a package that had only been installed partially in a previous attempt.
Remark:
If the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 package is not installed, MxSoftPanel will show an error message after starting that the file api-ms-win-crt-runtime-1.0.dll is missing.
